Tian Shan Mountains
Geographical Features
The Tian Shan is a large system of mountain ranges located in Central Asia. The highest peak in the Tian Shan is Jengish Chokusu, 7,439 metres. Geographically is is located 42.0000° N, 80.0000° E.The mountain was formed from a continuing growth in height of the Himalayas, with the two asian plates still pushing against each other. |
Flora and Fauna
Although many peaks of Tian Shan Mountains are covered with snow all the year round, the mountain area under the snow line is still rich in plant resources. Vegetation is there under rich diversity, including dense forest, green spruce, whirl pines and more than 80 species of medical plants. The animals on the other hand is not very populated as it only has mountain goats, snow leopards, chinese bears and various types of birds. |
